Ozark Homesteading Workshops
The Ozark Folk Center State Park Craft Village and Heritage Herb Garden will host Ozark Homesteading workshops on Friday & Saturday, June 27 & 28, 2025.
Workshops include Composting for a Healthy Garden; Using Goats, Sheep & Chickens to Reclaim Land; Make Your Own Sauerkraut; Donkey Power in the Ozarks; Herbal Bug Repellents; History, Herbs, & Healing; and more. Farmers from the Stone County Farmer's Market will be on hand sharing tips and techniques. There is no preregistration required and regular Craft Village admission fee covers all workshops. The Village is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be live music on the Blacksmith Stage throughout the day.

Our Ozark Homesteading workshops focus carries over into our eateries in the park. Try the Skillet Restaurant, where they offer locally grown local produce in season and use herbs grown in the Kitchen Garden right in front of the restaurant. The Skillet is open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday & Saturday.
Food, music, gardens, talks, tours and so much more make up the Ozark Folk Center State Park.

Come celebrate Great Outdoors Month at Lake Dardanelle State Park and engage in new outdoor adventures. We will host a new workshop each Saturday from 9-11 a.m. Registration for each will include all materials needed for the workshop. These workshops are designed to provide basic instruction for each topic to let participants learn about the outdoor activities and try them out. This week's workshop is Camping 101; are you ready to embark on your next camping adventure, but not sure where to start? Join a park interpreter at the amphitheater for Camping 101! We will cover planning ahead, the importance of practicing Leave No Trace principles, choosing the perfect campsite, and setting up camp with ease. By the end of the workshop, you’ll be prepared to make the most of your time in the great outdoors!

Visitors will get a chance to see specimen collections, play insect themed games, make arthropod art and even try and find some bugs themselves. Come and go as you please.

Bull Shoals-White River State Park is excited to offer Women in Nature (W.I.N.)! During this summer series, women are encouraged to join park staff to explore different aspects of the park and enjoy the great outdoors with other like-minded women. In June, participants will be introduced to fly fishing
including an in depth look at fly rods, how to cast, and what you can expect to fish for in the White River. Park staff will provide all necessary supplies. Please call the visitor center at (870) 445-3629 to register before Friday, June 27 at noon. Space is limited.

You get to do neat stuff and earn an official Explorer Badge.
