2nd Friday Art Night
June 12, 2026
5 – 8 p.m.
Live music by Kavanaugh Band
Arkansas Made beer by Southern Tail Brewing of Little Rock
Opening reception for Soft Landings: Greta Kresse and Grace Edwards

For our June Art Night, join us for the opening reception for Soft Landings with Greta Kresse’s paintings and Grace Edwards’ sculptures in the Trinity Gallery for Arkansas Artists. In the balcony café, we’ll have Kavanaugh Band playing the retro sounds of the '50s and '60s. Four voices, four personalities, four styles—you'll know every song they play. Perfect for dancing and singing along. Southern Tail Brewing will pour their Arkansas Made beer in the atrium where snacks and other drinks will also be served.

On our historic grounds, make your way back to the Hinderliter Grog Shop where we are examining the phrase from the Declaration of Independence, “Trade with all parts of the world” for our June America 250 activities. You can chat with the friendly tavern keepers while sampling some of the imported beverages available in Territorial Arkansas.

Soft Landings: Greta Kresse & Grace Edwards
On display in Trinity Gallery for Arkansas Artists
June 12 through September 20, 2026

Whether it’s driving fast with the music turned up or savoring the delicate crunch and chewy texture of a perfectly baked macaron, everyone understands the thrill of fleeting pleasure. In sweeping strokes of saturated color, painter Greta Kresse captures what it feels like to be young, wild and free, while Grace Edwards mines sensory memories to create playful sculptures – transforming rigid ceramic materials into candy-colored forms that twist and flow like molten sugar. On the surface, Greta’s paintings and Grace’s sculptures may look unrelated, but both women use artmaking to find comfort in an ever-changing world.

Kresse and Edwards are 2026 graduates of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville’s Master of Fine Arts (MFA) program.
