Vintage Finds, Festival Food, and a Little Fall Adventure 🍂

Who’s ready to trade the usual weekend routine for something fun? October 9–11 brings plenty of reasons to explore Arkansas, whether you’re looking for a family outing, a shopping day with friends, or a little time outdoors.

Head to Yellville for the 80th Annual Turkey Trot Festival, complete with a parade, live music, crafts, and festival food. Browse vintage treasures, handmade goods, and seasonal décor at Vintage Market Days in Bentonville, or enjoy free live music, a kids zone, and a car show at Booneville’s October Daze Fall Festival.

Closer to the River Valley, ride for a cause at the Stepping Stones Sober Run in Hartman, or satisfy your sweet tooth at the Fall Festival in historic downtown Van Buren. Planning a day with the kids? Arkansas Pumpkin Fest in Black Rock has hayrides, a six-acre corn maze, and plenty of room to play.

You’ll also find pottery painting in Conway, old-fashioned crafts at Parker Homestead, and state park activities ranging from campfire stories and s’mores to a scenic cruise on DeGray Lake.

Saturday’s 81 degree high will be sandwiched between highs of 89 on Friday and Sunday. Evening temperatures should be in the upper 50’s, and it looks like no rain this weekend.

Family Climbing Trip at Sam’s Throne, Arkansas

Sam's Throne Arkansas

We’re bringing climbers, families, and friends together for a relaxed weekend of climbing, camping, campfires, and quality time in nature.

This isn’t just a climbing trip, it’s a chance to unplug, introduce kids and loved ones to the outdoor community, reconnect with old friends, and make new ones. All climbing abilities are welcome, and you’re encouraged to join even if climbing isn’t your main activity.

Nick will bring multiple ropes, and is happy to lead routes in 5.6-5.11 range to hang top ropes anytime we are out climbing. Bring your preferred belay device, and a harness for yourself and the kid(s). For kids new to climbing: I wouldn’t worry about climbing shoes (they can wear street shoes) or chalk bags, and they can wear their bike helmet. Parents, if you are new to climbing.. now is the time to get belay certified with RoKC or IBEX and continue practicing PBUS technique to prepare to belay your little human(s) safely on the trip; Our trips are open to all skill levels, but having basic belay skills is required.

Camp sites are first-come-first served, free, and pretty flat. Please note the campground has NO WATER and NO ELECTRICITY, but there are pit toilets. Cell signal is very limited.

If you have questions dm us or email nick.wardbopp@gmail.com!

Retreat to Hot Springs, AR

Hot Springs, Arkansas

Retreat in Hot Springs, AR. Activities include yoga, a day of Mining for Crystals, Hiking nearby Trails, a visit to Garvan Woodland Gardens for a Professional Photo Shoot, a visit to the Hot Springs Mountain Tower, and more.

Lodging: We will be staying 4 nights in a stunning Victorian House in Hot Springs National Park, AR, close to restaurants, shopping and Bathhouse Row. This beautiful house includes twelve-foot ceilings, chandeliers, huge rooms, lots of light and good vibes - it's truly special. Just a short distance to the casino, shopping, restaurants, coffee shops and hiking trails. This 6 BR, 2 Bath home has 8 beds. (2 King, 4 Queen, and 2 Single). This home is quirky, comfortable, and fun.

Even if you save money by bringing a friend, partner, or family member, by agreeing to share a bed, you may still end up in a bed all to yourself. It will depend on the number of people who register.

Yoga: Bring your yoga mat and any props that you would like. Join Brenda Kelly for refreshing yoga practices during our trip. We will take time to reflect, journal, and meditate as we go throughout each day of our retreat.

Activities: Bring your walking shoes, as our location has hiking trails just at the end of the street. Don't be surprised if you come across a natural hot spring or waterfall.

Connect with the earth:

We will spend a day mining for crystals at a local mine. Plan on getting dirty! Find natural gemstones like Ruby, Emerald, Turquoise, Tourmaline, Garnet, Amethyst, Crystal, Aquamarine & many, many more. Keep whatever your find! You will receive a diamond pouch and a colored gemstone pouch to sift through for hidden treasures before heading into the museum where you will see a 2,000 lb. Quartz Crystal, and a 4,400 lb. Amethyst Geode.

Connect with the water:

Learn why Hot Springs Arkansas is known as America's "Spa City".
The itinerary will include times that you could schedule a mineral bath, massage, facial, or other therapeutic session from one of the many bathhouses in the area. (I have personally experienced an AMAZING couples session at Quapaw Baths and Spa. Check out their Seasonal Package for the same experience, which included a mineral bath, couples massage, facial, and foot scrub - 3 hours of bliss!). You will be responsible for booking your spa treatment at your desired location. Book early, as these packages fill up fast.

Connect with the air:

Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Ouachita Mountains, Hot Springs Mountain, the Diamond Lakes area, and the beautiful city of Hot Springs, Arkansas from atop the Hot Springs Mountain Tower (an elevation of 1256 feet above sea level).

Connect with ether:

Create space for yourself. During our trip to Garvan Woodland Gardens, you will be joined by Allyson Lipari for a Professional Photo Shoot. You will receive digital copies of your photos. Afterward, you will have the option to join us for dinner, at your own expense, at a reserved table at 501 Prime.

Connect with fire:

Burn away those things that no longer serve you in a releasing fire ceremony.

Meals: Vegan/Gluten-free meals will be provided for most of your stay. As mentioned above, we will have a reserved table at 501 Prime for those who would like to attend, at their own expense, for an upscale dining experience. You also have the option to feast on leftovers or dine at another location.

$249 non-refundable (but transferable) deposit holds your spot.

The full cost is $1,420 per person for an individual bed. You will be invoiced for the remaining $1,171.

Save $108 by coming with a partner. Share a king or queen bed and pay $1,312 ea. Each person is still required to pay the $249 deposit and will be invoiced for the remaining $1,063 ea.

Arkansas Children’s Race for a Healthier Tomorrow

In 2022, while Malin was undergoing treatment at ACH, her school—Jefferson Elementary—came together to create a race team for this event called “Malin’s Patriots.” It became one of the largest teams and was such a meaningful show of love and support for Malin and our family. Let’s come together again this year to support ACH and recreate Malin’s Patriots once more. We hope you’ll join us as we celebrate her sweet spirit and continue supporting the place that cared for her so well.
