You’re invited to Write NOW! A 2-hour workshop where we’ll discuss elements of writing, experiment with prompts, and help you to add depth to your characters and overall story. Whether you’re an experienced writer, want to dust off your notebook, or just want to try something new, join us and Write NOW! We will provide a safe space to share work and inspire one another to keep writing!
Writing is an act of individual expression, but writers in community can nurture and support one another, fueling the creative spirits of all who participate. Writing in community provides greater perspective on our own writing.
We (Nikki and Lea) met in 2009 in a Zona Rosa writing group in Fayetteville, AR. We’ve both been life-long writers and continued writing even after Zona Rosa disbanded. After a few twists and turns in life, we have reunited, picked up our pens, and decided to focus on building a writing community to encourage others to lean into writing, expression, creativity.
Lea Cook has been published in magazines including: Mary Englebreit, Ozark Mountaineer, Celebrate Arkansas, and Senior Living. She has also contributed to several small-town Northwest Arkansas newspapers, as well as the Arkansas Democrat Gazette. Lea’s writing has appeared twice in the Ozark Tales anthology. She writes fiction, non-fiction and especially pieces on herbs, gardening, and antiques.
Nikki graduated with an MFA in Literary Translation from the University of Arkansas. Her translations have been published in Moon City Review, New European, and Art Amiss. She has won several awards for her fiction writing. Nikki mostly enjoys writing non-fiction, essays, and flash fiction, and is currently working on a memoir and a book of short non-fiction stories.

Water Sound Bath
Russellville Aquatic Center
A Sound Bath is a full-body listening experience that uses specific frequencies to relax and nurture our mind, body, and spirit. At JB Wellness the sounds introduced during a Sound Bath are primarily from crystal quartz singing bowls. Using these powerful instruments provides us with an opportunity to unplug from the external stimuli of our busy lives, and helps us to gain perspective on what’s going on within us through deep rest and relaxation. This sound bath occurs in the warm therapy pool at the Russellville Aquatic Center where we will float on the water while listening to the singing bowls. Please feel free to bring your own flotation device or choose to use pool noodles provided by the Aquatic Center.
