Hello everyone, well the heat is moderating some. I have welcomed the afternoon showers. Fall is around the corner.
The next meeting of the Central Arkansas Bonsai society will be held on September 12th at the Amy Sanders library in Sherwood. The room will be open from 9a until 2p. The meeting starts at 10a, and we generally pack up around 1p. Folks that would like to come early and help set up the tables and chairs are more than welcome.
This month's presenter will be Larry Totton, our friend from Tennessee. Larry will talk about flowering Crepe Myrtles, how to plant Virginia pine seedling, and more information on the Eastern Red Cedar.
We will set aside some time to talk about the events in the remainder of this year. It would also be a good time to discuss any ideas about what you would like to do next year.

Come hungry, bring your friends, and help us support the young people of **Trail Life USA Troop AR-0411** and **American Heritage Girls Troop AR0411!**
This **Spaghetti Dinner & Silent Auction** is our troops’ **main fundraiser**, and every donation helps us provide activities, adventures, service opportunities, supplies, and experiences for our boys and girls throughout the year.
### What’s for Dinner?
We’ll be serving spaghetti topped with **Mark Gordon’s Gramma’s locally famous spaghetti sauce**, plus **Jo Siebert’s Alpha-Gal-friendly spaghetti sauce** for those who need an Alpha-Gal-friendly option.
And, of course, spaghetti deserves all the fixings! We plan to serve **fresh salad, homemade bread, and a tempting selection of homemade desserts** to round out the meal.
If you’re joining us at Abundant Life Church, we’ll also have **sweet iced tea, unsweet iced tea, lemonade, and ice water** available to drink. We will have an option for limited deliveries close by for folks getting 5 or more dinners.
Come hungry—we’re planning a good, old-fashioned community meal with plenty of delicious food, all while raising funds for a wonderful cause: **supporting our local Trailmen and American Heritage Girls!**
Dinner is **BY DONATION**, so come enjoy a great meal while supporting a great cause—**our youth!**

My Worth to Blossom Festival for Girls
This is an arts and crafts festival where women and girls come together to gather, create, design, and really learn how to use their creativity in a way that can generate income. Not just making things for fun, but learning how to turn what’s in your hands into something that can actually bring profit.
We’ll have a luxury picnic, one focused workshop based on my book Girl, Make It Happen: From Creativity to Profit, and vendors set up. Girls will be able to create their own products—lip gloss, candles, bracelets—and really tap into their creativity. We’ll also have a photo booth with a floral bike for those soft, beautiful moments.
One thing I’m standing on—no girl is coming alone. Every girl must be accompanied by an adult, and it’s $25 per person. So if you’re bringing a girl or coming with one, both of you will need a ticket.
I’m building this to be intentional, covered, and meaningful for everybody involved. If that’s what you’re looking for, come be a part of it.

Take an adventure with a park guide from the lodge to Mossback Ridge and back, experiencing some of Mount Magazine State Park's unique nature and history on your way. This hike has some inclines that can be difficult for some hikers, and a portion ventures off trail. Insect repellent, sunscreen, drinking water, and sturdy shoes are highly recommended.

Nature has all kinds of beauty, both big and small. Join a park interpreter to explore the world of photography and nature at Lake Poinsett State Park. No camera equipment required, but if you have a camera or phone capable of taking pictures, bring it. We will be hiking along the Pale Wood Trail to take photos. Bring water, insect repellent, and be prepared to do some hiking.

Guided Cavern Tours
Blanchard Springs Caverns

Cost: Adult: $15.00/$12.00 | Children (ages 6-15) $10.00/$8.00
Blanchard Springs Caverns is one of the most spectacular and carefully developed caves found anywhere in the world. It is located in the Ozark National Forest and is believed to have been formed, and continually changed, by an ongoing mountain spring that pours into a glassy-surfaced trout pond below the cave, called Mirror Lake.
The active cave, with its glistening formations, stalactites, stalagmites and flowstones is constantly changing, providing return visitors something new to see each time. Beautifully lighted rooms, that accentuate the cave's features, are equipped with handrails and paved trails for comfortable walking.
Tours are led by trained professional guides.
Tours are available daily Thursday through Monday (closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays). Most days have multiple tours available. Click here for ticket availability and reservations.
Two tour options are offered this season:
Dripstone Trail Tour travels through two huge rooms filled with an incredible variety and number of crystalline formations - sparkling flowstone, towering columns, and delicate soda straws. This shorter, easier trail takes visitors almost half a mile through the Caverns. All stairs can be avoided, however there are several steep ramps.
THINGS TO KNOW:
ARRIVAL TIME: When traveling to the Forest for a cave tour, please allow extra travel time for road work, wildlife on roads, and reduced speed due to curvy roads. We suggest that you arrive around 30 minutes before the start of your scheduled tour. This will allow for time to find parking, pick up your tickets, and use the restroom. All scheduled tours leave on time. Arrivals after tour time will not be permitted entry. No refunds for late arrivals or missed tours.
ACCESSIBILITY: This tour does not meet the modern standards for ADA accessibility. Visitors with manual and motorized wheelchairs and mobility devices can go on tour but must bring two able-bodied adults to assist them on the steep slopes. PREPARE YOURSELF TO BE COMFORTABLE: The cave is a constant 58 degree temperature so please dress appropriately; wear low-heeled non-slip shoes; there are NO restrooms underground.

Are you up for the Scavenger Hunt Challenge? Join a park interpreter for a hike and game combined. Along the trail we’ll be on the lookout for many different items, animals, sounds and colors found in nature. This easy 1 1/4-mile long hike/game takes about 1 hour to complete. Please wear sturdy shoes and bring along some water.

At the conclusion of the program, there will be an opportunity to build your own birdhouse to take home, so you can enjoy the backyard birds too.
