Ozark NF - Labor Day Weekend Overlanding!

Ozark National Forest

Labor Day weekend overlanding/camping!

The plan:
We are going to start off camping Friday night north of the town of Ozark, Arkansas (Exact location TBD). Everyone can arrive at their leisure

Saturday, we will have our signature Sausage/egg/cheese breakfast, then get moving by 9am through the forest. Highlights will include waterfalls, multiple water crossings, and visits to the famous Oark Cafe and Old Union School House before we find camp.

Sunday we will make our way to Carwash Falls and cruise through the forest more as we turn toward our starting point/camp for the night. Beautiful scenic forest rides, and hopefully not too much dust!

Labor Day/Monday, wake up late and head home at your convenience. (If we happen to be camping deep in the woods, we will make sure everyone gets out to pavement)

Important notes:
1. This trip will be mostly beginner friendly. 4x4 and high clearance is recommended due to the creek crossing.

2. Since it is actual forest overlanding on a popular weekend, we may not be in the perfect epic camp.

3. The weather leading up to the weekend will determine how deep the water crossings are(during our memorial weekend trip in the same area, we had torrential rains and our deepest required crossing was about knee deep)

4. If anyone is interested, I will organize a potluck dinner for Saturday night. See event discussion/chat for details

more info to come!

2nd Annual Arkansas Reggae Community Festival

300 Bishop Lindsey Ave, North Little Rock, AR

The Arkansas Reggae Festival was birth out of a festival we held years ago called "Reggae at the Riverfront". It was started in the mid 2000's. We had some really good artists come through like Mikey Dread, Tippa Irie, and Kymani Marley (Bob Marley son). After some years off, we decided to try and bring it back in 2020, but was turned away because of the severity of Covid-19. Covid-19 lasted lasted a few more years, so we came back and held our first festival inside at the Revroom. The name then was changed to Arkansas Reggae Festival.

Of course you really can't have festivals on the inside , so in 2024, we had our first outdoor festival in years. We had a great line up of local, regional, national, and International artists. Last years headliners were "Lutan Fyah" and, "Droop Lion" from Jamaica. This years headliner will be Ras Attitude from St. Croix, V.I., and Perfect Giddimani from Jamaica! Others performing will be Yard Squad, Sing Kumba & Mystic Height (St. Kitts), and Lions Heights (Austin, Tx). We'll have a kids zone this year! Kids 12 & Under Free.
