Grow & Gather

804 W 4th Pl, Russellville, AR

Hey Friends!

We’ve been busy bringing the community garden to life and haven’t shared an official update just yet, but I couldn’t wait to show you the magic that has happened!

Seeds went into the ground on April 21st, and just look at this...7 days of growth! Everything is up and thriving, and it fills my heart with so much joy.

If you haven’t stopped by yet, please do. This garden is something truly special. Our hope is that it not only feeds hungry bellies, but also grows community, friendships, knowledge, and connection.

Now that things are sprouting, it’s time to give the space a little love. We invite you to join us on May 9 at 7:00 AM as we will be putting down a weed barrier and mulch around the perimeter, installing sinage, and sharing ideas. Bring your favorite morning beverage, gloves, and ideas. We’d love your help as we continue shaping this into a place to gather, learn, and grow…together

Young Maker’s Market - Spring 2026 - Van Buren

Van Buren Train Depot

Come out and support local youth as they showcase their own:
• handmade products
• creative ideas
• small business ventures

From first-time makers to growing young entrepreneurs, each booth represents more than just something for sale—it represents effort, learning, and courage.

WHY THIS MATTERS

When young people learn how to:
• communicate
• manage money
• solve problems
• build something of their own

…it doesn’t just impact them.

It strengthens families, builds confidence, and changes the future of our community.

Because one young person learning to earn today… can shift a generational path tomorrow.

COME SUPPORT

Shop local, handmade, and youth-created goods
Encourage the next generation of builders and thinkers
Be part of something that’s bigger than a market

GET INVOLVED

Young Makers: Want to participate? We’d love to have you!
Mentors & Sponsors: Help support and guide these young entrepreneurs
Community: Show up, shop, and encourage
To sign up: DM me and only me. Scammers like to place all kinds of posts in events asking you to email them. Don’t do it. Only DM me here in Facebook and I’ll get you (the parent) in the vendor group for your young maker.

Arkansas Site Stewardship Program Workshop

14137 AR 21, Ozone, AR

Interested in yet another way of developing a more well-rounded outdoor existence? How about connecting with folks in the archeological community? If this sounds interesting and you want to learn more, here’s some information about a great training opportunity you’ll want to read:

The Arkansas Site Stewardship Program is a joint effort between the Arkansas Archeological Survey (ARAS-the professional archeologists) and the Arkansas Archeological Society (AAS-the volunteer avocational archeologists). After participating in a day-long workshop, becoming members of the Society, and submitting a successful application, stewards are assigned archeological sites to monitor 2 to 4 times per year. No formal archeological training or knowledge is necessary—you’ll learn everything you need to know at the workshop. Then, if you become a steward, there will be additional training opportunities available for deeper dives into different aspects of archeological stewardship.

Not all sections of the Ozark Highlands Trail (OHT) have registered archeological sites, but many do. If you have a section assigned to you for maintenance, hopefully there will be sites you can visit as you do maintenance activities.

So come join in! Register at the link below:

https://docs.google.com/.../1FAIpQLScLiYEt9zWEaG.../viewform

The workshop will be on May 9th at the Ozone Community Building at 14137 AR 21 in Ozone, Arkansas. Mel will be happy to answer questions via email (mzabeck@uark.edu) or at the April 25th Rendezvous meal and annual meeting at Turner Bend.
