Looking for something fun to do this weekend? 👀

From outdoor adventures and live music to festivals, family activities, back-to-school events and more, there’s plenty happening across Arkansas!

We’ve gathered events from around the state to help you make the most of one of the final weekends before school begins. ☀️

One event especially close to our hearts is the Summer Send Off this Saturday at the Johnson County Library in Clarksville! Join us for free snow cones, a bounce house, yard games and a school supply drive and giveaway for local students. 🎒Looks like we’ll have temperatures in the upper 90’s all weekend, with a possibility of a stray shower or thunderstorm Friday and Saturday. But, it looks like a great weekend to get out there and enjoy one of the last weekends before school starts back up again!!

Check out our full roundup of what's happening across Arkansas! As always, we recommend checking with the venue before heading out to an event to make sure nothing has changed.

If you know of any events we should add to this or future editions of “This Weekend in Arkansas”, let us know! In the meantime, we have selected a few of our favorite events for the weekend! Here is our guide to what’s happening this weekend in Arkansas!

If you decide to join any of these events, be sure to mention that Live Love Arkansas sent you!

Simply click the red text(or the photo) to see more details about each event.

However you choose to spend your weekend, we wish you a fantastic one!

NOTE: As always, we do our best to bring you accurate information… however, we encourage you to reach out to event venues to confirm before you head out to an advertised event!

Central Arkansas Bonsai Society August Meeting

CALS - Sanders Library

Bob's Note:

Hot,hot,HOT!!!!! Watering twice a day and then some. Looking forward to cooler weather.

The next meeting of the Central Arkansas Bonsai Society will be held on August 8th at the Amy Sander library in Sherwood. We meet from 10a until 1p. The doors open at 9a and anyone who wants to come in early and help set up the tables and chairs is more the welcome.

Wally will lead our talk/demo this month. It will be about how to incorporate rocks into our Penjing/bonsai presentations. Rocks can be used in many ways, bring any rock display you would want to show the group.

As I mentioned earlier, our trees are in stress during this hot weather. An extra sprinkle of water in the afternoon can help them in their struggles. I am looking forward to seeing everyone. Take care, be well, and keep the green side up. ......Bob
********************************************
********************************************
Wally's Note:
I just want to REITERATE what Bob says about a 2nd watering of your trees in the afternoon. A little shade during the hottest part of the day might be in order too.

I'll be discussing the many ways that rocks (not the ones in my head) can be used to assist or enhance your bonsai.

See you on Saturday August 8th!!!
