There's a lot going on in Arkansas this weekend!
Geek out over three days of pop culture at Arkansas Comic Con in Little Rock, hit the backroads for the Ozark Painters, Makers & Shakers Art Crawl through Newton County, or step into Dragonstone Springs at the Arkansas Renaissance Festival in Mount Vernon. Razorback fans can join the Trailgating Fan Parade in Fayetteville before the Arkansas vs. Georgia kickoff, Gilmore Girls devotees can talk fast and live it up at GGs Fans Weekend in Eureka Springs, and the curious can hunt for answers at the 2026 Arkansas Bigfoot Conference near Vilonia. Prefer the outdoors? Try a geocaching island hop at DeGray Lake or a bat night hike at Daisy State Park.
Look for mostly sunny skies with daytime temperatures in the mid to upper-90s and evening temperatures dipping into the upper 60s.

Headquarters for the Ozark Jamboree is at the Byrd’s Adventure Center in Ozark, Arkansas. This family-owned park is no stranger to large groups and is ready to welcome Jeep Jamboree USA. They offer RV spaces, primitive camping with the wonderful shower / restroom facilities, beautiful new cabins and a general store and restaurant onsite.

Arkansas Camping / Hiking / Crystal Digging Trip
Arkansas
I have reserved one campsite at Tompkins Bend campground on Lake Ouachita. There are two vehicles and 12 people allowed per campsite. Extra vehicles will have to park in the campers parking area or the bathroom parking lot. Please update your RSVP and remove “going” if you are not attending. The online system only allows each person to reserve one campsite. If you are interested in reserving an additional campsite, please send me a DM and I’ll let you know. Recommended campsite numbers that are still available but you are welcome to share my spot. I do usually like to have two campsite reserved though so we have plenty of space.
Itinerary:
Crystal dig trip - digging and searching for crystals at a quartz mine. We did this last year and it was great fun and we found many beautiful crystals to bring home.
Hot springs soak and town exploration - we will spend several hours at Quapaw bathhouse and then we wander around and explore all of the fun shops in town
Hiking and Lake - campsites are on Lake Washta so we will spend time some hiking and enjoying the lake.

Join us for the Ozark Acres Unrestricted Clean Up , a community effort to remove trash, debris, and litter from Ozark Acres and help care for the beautiful place we call home.
We’ll be gathering for three community cleanup days this fall. Volunteers are welcome to come for an hour, a few hours, or spend the whole day with us. There is no minimum time commitment. Every bag of trash removed and every helping hand makes a difference.
We will begin at 8:00 AM and wrap up by 3:00 PM each day. We’ll take regular breaks throughout the day and stop for a lunch break.
What to Bring
Please come prepared for outdoor cleanup work.
All volunteers need to:
-Wear appropriate work clothes
-Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes or work boots
-Bring work gloves
-Bring plenty of drinking water
-Bring snacks and/or a lunch
-Bring sun protection as needed
September and October can still be hot in the Ozarks, so please bring enough water to stay hydrated throughout the time you plan to volunteer.
Work at Your Own Pace
This isn't a race, and you don't have to stay all day. Work as little or as much as you are comfortable with. Take breaks whenever you need them.
Whether you pick up trash for an hour or work alongside us for the entire day, your contribution is appreciated.
Our goal is simple: neighbors helping neighbors take care of Ozark Acres.
Let’s get outside, meet some of our neighbors, clean up our community, and leave the land a little better than we found it.

We offer teams the option to pay a $50 non-refundable deposit vs. the full team entry fee so that they can hold a spot for their team. The remaining balance is due no later than October 9th. If remaining balance is left unpaid your team could be dropped from the tournament.

We offer an early bird special for teams who pay in full at the time that they register. This discount is valid for teams that register and pay in full by September 1, 2026. Please use promo code SAVE10 at checkout to apply the 10% off discount.
REFUND POLICY
Deposits are non-refundable. We do not offer a refund for tournament team entry fee's once registration has closed and/or the age division you've registered for has made (whichever comes first). This is considered the "cutoff point". It is not fair to the other teams who've committed and paid just for another team to drop out last minute, jeopardizing that age division and causing everyone to have to scramble. The only instance in which we provide refunds after the cutoff point mentioned above is if we cancel the tournament due to inclement weather or natural disaster and if we are unable to reschedule the event to a different date.

Whether you are a diehard geocacher or completely new to the activity, this excursion is sure to satisfy your craving for adventure! With GPS units/smartphones in hand, we will travel by boat to a few of DeGray Lake’s islands in search of these hidden capsules. Smartphone users are encouraged to download a geocaching app ahead of time to be ready for the action. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes for walking on rocky, uneven terrain. Seating is limited; reservations can be made beginning noon the day before at the marina, (501) 865-5841. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early, because the boat must depart on time.

Historic Dyeing 101: Wool Edition

Are you interested in historical dyeing methods? Join us for a beginner's workshop focusing on 19th century dyeing techniques for animal fibers. From mordants and fixatives to dyes and dyebaths, you'll learn the entire process from start to finish. Each participant will have the opportunity to dye and take home two mini-skeins of 100% wool to use in any of their future projects.
Aprons and gloves will be provided, but it is still recommended to wear clothes that may get stained. The class will break for a one-hour lunch.

When the sun sets, the night life at Daisy State Park begins. Join the park superintendent on an exciting nighttime hike about the history of bats here at the park. This guided hike along the Daisy Creek Trail explores the different adaptations that make our nocturnal animals like bats so successful. Sturdy footwear and a flashlight are recommended.

Seeing DeGray Lake is not the same as experiencing it! Hands down, one of the best ways to enjoy the lake is from inside a kayak, paddling along the shoreline and exploring beautiful coves. No paddling experience is necessary to sign up for this morning kayak adventure. Flatwater kayaks, paddles, and life jackets are provided. Be prepared to paddle approximately 2 miles (1 ½ hours). Your guide will demonstrate the basics of kayaking and answer nature questions along the way. Participants must be at least 10 years old to paddle a boat solo. Reservations are required and are taken at the marina beginning noon the day before, (501) 865-5841. Wear clothes and shoes that can get wet, bring a bottle of water plus any snacks you may need. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early or your spot may be given to someone on the waiting list.

In order to purchase a hunting license in Arkansas anyone who was born after December 31, 1968, must complete Hunter Education. This is a 10-hour course that will be held from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday and 1 – 5 p.m. on Sunday. Participants must attend both days to complete the course. There will be a short lunch break on Saturday and guests are encouraged to bring a sack lunch. Snacks and drinks will be available to purchase in the gift shop. There is no fee to participate, but registration is required. Registration is online and can be completed by visiting the Arkansas Game and Fish website.
