Before we know it, Creekside will be hosting the first-ever Hunting Legacy Archery Competition & Outdoor Expo
WHO: All kids, school age and under, get in free; adults pay a gate fee of just $5
WHAT: So much will be going on:
-a youth Big Buck Classic competition (for ages 6-15)
-a 3-D archery shoot where anyone aged 5 or up can compete to win a Matthews compound bow (in their age division)
- a fascinating Vendor's Hall with vendor booths, games, and other activities for kids and adults. Over 30 different vendors expected!
- expert guest speakers on outdoor topics like using game calls, seasonal hunting strategies, food plot preparation to attract wildlife, and more
-a massive school-age archery competition that's a qualifier for the Arkansas state championships

11:00 – 11:30 a.m. The Saw-whet Owl: Guest speaker Mitchell Pruitt with the Ozark Bird Conservancy will share information about this little-known owl species which only visits Northwest Arkansas in the winter. Hobbs has been a part of the study area where research has been conducted on them for a number of years.
12:30 – 1:00 p.m. Winter Wildlife Survival: The 8 “Ates”: How do wild animals survive the cold winter months? Hibernate is just one of the “ates”! A park interpreter will help you discover all 8 “ates” or strategies used for winter survival and introduce you to a live kingsnake, one of our animal ambassadors.
1:15 – 2:15 p.m. Black Bear Hike: Black Bears were once so plentiful in Arkansas that our state was known as the Bear State. Join a park interpreter on this family- friendly 0.25-mile hike along the ADA accessible Ozark Plateau Trail to discover more about the black bear, how to live safely in bear country, and other “bear” necessities.

Back story:
On Sunday, Aug. 31, 2025 Isaac was involved in a swimming accident in Arkansas while on a camping trip. He hit his head, causing complete paralysis. At which time he was airlifted to Springfield, MO, 3 hours away. He suffered a broken neck. His C5 vertebrae was shattered, causing the bone fragments to enter his spine. He also fractured his C6.
Thank you to everyone for your prayers, love, support, and generosity during this time.
Although we know the road ahead is going to be long, we remain hopeful that he will be able to move again and enjoy all the things he did before.

After completing your first tandem with us, just a few bucks to begin your new adventure. The six hour ground school will cover gear, emergency procedures, gearing up, exiting the plane, and much more! Bring food/snacks!
The following day, or when your schedule works best, you come back to the airport to go over what you previously learned, look at an aerial map, make a plan with your Instructor, and then you are up (along with your Instructor by your side).
OPTION 1 - $110/JUMP
Instructor Assisted Deployment (IAD):
You learn from roughly 5,000 feet while hanging off the wing strut. As you gain skills you also will gain altitude until you get to 10,500 feet. You will have a one way radio the first 3-5 skydives.
OPTION 2 - $225/JUMP*
Accelerated Free Fall (AFF):
You start at 10,500 feet launching out with two AFF Instructors hanging on to you. You will have certain actions to perform during each exit. After 3-5 skydives of having two Instructors, you will then move on to Single Side Instructor. You will have a one way radio the first 3-5 skydives.
*If you had recently started AFF elsewhere, then you can skydive with one instructor and the price drops to $185 per skydive. You must provide proof by means of logbook. You will have 3-5 jumps with one Instructor.
COACH JUMPS (after IAD or AFF requirements): After so many jumps of either learning you choose, you will then 'graduate' on to Coach Jumps. Another licensed skydiver exits with you advancing your skills and knowledge of the sport. $95/jump
We DO offer recurrency for those who may have been grounded for a bit.

(Making Art, Driving Exploration), a program series designed to help you connect with the outdoors through creativity. In each session, you’ll explore nature’s colors, textures, and patterns while creating your own unique work of art. This workshop will be from 9–11 a.m. in the visitor center Lakeview Room. We will learn to identify animal tracks and make our own to take home. Registration is $15 per person, all supplies are provided, and no prior art experience is needed.
